Students in Kennesaw State's College of Computing and Software Engineering recently demonstrated their talent, creativity and ability to put what they've learned in the classroom into practice during the biannual Computing Showcase, also called C-Day. The culminating event, presented at the end of the fall semester, attracted dozens of student projects which were then judged by 18 industry professionals in five categories. Graduating students displayed their posters, video games and prototypes that highlighted their experiences within internships, team projects, research endeavors, and capstone and thesis work. More than 40 undergraduate and graduate students were honored with first, second and third place honors in five categories. Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2017 semester. The Kennesaw State students were honored by President Sam Olens for earning top marks.

More than 140 students from 10 departments in the College of Arts and Sciences participated in the Fall 2017 Undergraduate STEM Research Conference on Oct. 27, 2017, presenting research, research proposals, or literature on topics of interest.

To be eligible for the Dean's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

To be eligible for the President's List during the summer semester, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

More than 500 graduate students earned master's degrees from Georgia State University during the summer semester of 2017.

More than 900 students earned their bachelor's degrees from Georgia State University during the summer semester of 2017.

More than 400 students Georgia State University students earned their associate's degrees during the summer semester of 2017.

On July 21, Oglethorpe welcomed 84 incoming students for the third and final summer orientation, known as a MAP (Making a Petrel) Day. Oglethorpe's mascot is the Stormy Petrel. During MAP Day, these first-year students enrolled in their fall semester classes and received their official Petrel Pass student IDs. Classes start August 21, 2017.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 2,700 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2017 semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

More than 100 Georgia State University students received scholarships to study abroad during the 2016-2017 academic year.

On June 9, incoming students attended Oglethorpe's first summer orientation, known as a MAP (Making a Petrel) Day. The first-year students enrolled in their fall semester classes and received their Petrel Pass student I.D.

This achievement is presented to the students who participated in international education experiences with Georgia State University during the Spring 2017 semester.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for spring 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute's 253rd Commencement exercises on May 5-6, 2017, at the McCamish Pavilion.

More than 370 accepted students have indicated their commitment to attend Oglethorpe University by submitting their enrollment deposit. We're excited to welcome these new "Stormy Petrels" to campus this fall! The Class of 2021 will begin classes on August 21, 2017.

Honors Day is an opportunity to celebrate academic success and recognize those who help make it possible. Perimeter College students in 18 disciplines were eligible for student academic honors. All academic honors recipients represent a decision by faculty about the student whose academic results and progress, other activities and pursuits, and overall attitude and engagement are truly outstanding in that specific discipline.

More than 300 students were honored at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business Honors Day at Georgia State University, held March 30, 2017.

Five students of Georgia State University's Perimeter College received a $4,000 State Farm Scholarship. The scholarship is for students with at least a 3.0 GPA or higher.

More than 155 undergraduate students presented their research at the Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) on Tuesday, April 11. Students from a wide variety of disciplines shared their findings through oral presentations, posters, artistic displays and musical performances.

Students participating in the STEM Research Conference gain initial exposure to research, develop confidence in scientific communication, network, and receive constructive feedback from the University community.
